Frequently Asked Questions
What are Appointed Representatives and what kind of an agreement do they have?
As an Appointed Representative you would be able to conduct your regulatory business (Arranging business) on a day to day basis under our supervision, using our permissions. We provide you with the procedures, processes and guidance you need to comply with the FCA regulations and you would agree to our supervision to ensure you remain compliant at all times.
How do we understand what we can and can’t do?
You will be provided with a compliance manual that you are expected to follow. You will also be subject to periodic compliance audits and attestations. We will help guide you through the process and we use technology where practical to assist us in our oversight.
What would be the ongoing reporting requirements for the FCA?
If you become an Appointed Representative of Kession, we would handle the FCA reporting requirements on your behalf, however, our fees and levies are also attributed to your business.
What is CF1 and CF30?
These are approved person functions. You would need to satisfy the criteria with the FCA which we will manage on your behalf to become an approved person.
CF1 – this is a director/oversight function and is mandatory for all AR companies. Each Director should be a CF1.
CF30 – this is a Customer Function and enables you to interact with customers within the scope of your permissions.
Can I manage money?
As an Appointed Representative you are not allowed to manage money, including managed accounts as this is considered to be discretionary investment management and you would need to be fully authorised.
Can you provide personnel and office space for our business?
We maybe be able to assist with certain types of personnel for an interim period through our connections, this all depends on what and who you are looking for. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer business space but may be able to recommend offices to suit your needs.
What are your fees?
Our fee structure is simple, we base our fees on the risk profile of your firm and your specific requirements. We charge an on-boarding fee and a fixed monthly fee thereafter.
